Stool Stool

Cherry, sycamore

When a native tree is felled it usually grows back in multiple stems from the cut stump.

It is surprising how little known this fact is. It is also the basis for the ancient and relevant method of woodland management called coppicing.

The stump and growth is also called a stool.

This is cherry and I left the stems connected and added a sycamore top.

It’s more a little side table in hindsight.
