Occasional Dinner Table

Local ash

This table is part of collection of ash furniture pieces that celebrate this fine and important tree.

The chalara disease (aka ash dieback)  has taken hold.

This currently decimating the species and will leave very Ash trees in our landscape.

Imported plants inevitably brought the fungal disease with them some years ago.

A similar situation is currently happening with fire blight and hawthorn despite good local sources of plants and no ban on imports.

Home buyers often anticipate hosting dinner parties in their precious new purchase.

However, statistically speaking, these social events tend to happen much less than intended.

This trestle table allows for this. It can be permanent or can be disassembled easily.

The two top boards stored upright to a wall as display panels and the trestles nestled in front as a narrow side table.

The fixing buttons underneath holding the boards snug to the wall.
