Bog Oak Table
Bog oak, macracarpe, steel
I milled this piece of bog oak from a large trunk I got in Westmeath in the 90’s.
It would have been an old tree when the Pyramids of Egypt were going through the planning permission stages.
Since then the wood has been in a suspended pre-petrified state of decomposition before the turf cutters hit it.
It is strengthened underneath with some steel and rests on marocarpa legs.
The medullary rays are visible on the top surface.
