Ash Bench
Ash
As the planks are cut off the tree many of them are suited to be not cut further.
This bench is a simple ash plank with the wanes (outside part of the tree) left intact.
There direct visual relationship to the tree growing by simply imaging the bench stood upright on its end.
It also allows the use of relatively small diameter hardwoods.
The legs are split and shaped by hand before being joined by mortise and tenon.
This one is about 6 foot long but similar could be made up to about 16 foot.
Or longer depending on the tree.
